Email us now at ambassadors@raleigh.org.uk if you'd like a place at the next Ambassador training weekend on 25-26 September 2010

Been on a Raleigh expedition? Want to raise awareness about international development efforts and inspire positive change? If so, then sign up to become a Raleigh Global Ambassador and gain valuable campaigning and communication skills.

Launched in July 2009 and funded by the Department for International Development (DFID), Raleigh's Global Ambassador programme is developing a network of passionate and dedicated Global Ambassadors to inspire their peers and communities to support development efforts.

Your direct experience of living and working with communities with limited access to basic services places you in an ideal position to communicate a deeper understanding of global inequality and injustice.

How to get involved...

You don't need any prior knowledge or understanding of international development to get involved. Once you sign up, you'll be invited to a residential training weekend where we will provide you with the skills and knowledge to get you started.

Training Weekend...

"(The Ambassador training)...was such a thought-provoking and productive weekend and I felt like I took away a lot...we had that amazingly positive and creative buzz that Raleigh and its projects seems to inspire"
Oli Huseyemeyer (Costa Rica and Nicaragua 2009)
Raleigh Global Ambassador

The Global Ambassador training weekend runs over the course of two days, where you will be given the opportunity to reflect on your expedition before examining key international development issues and learning how to effectively campaign on them.

What's in it for you...

  • A great opportunity to reconnect with your Raleigh friends and relive that Raleigh buzz at the residential training weekend
  • Talks from leading organisations on issues ranging from the Millennium Development Goals to FairTrade
  • Gain relevant skills to enable you to communicate in an engaging and effective way with your peers and community about development
  • Benefit from workshops on presentation skills, events management, how to influence the media and e-communications skills
  • Boost your CV and employability

So what's stopping you? Sign up now to reserve a place at the next training weekend (25-26 September 2010) by emailing Shady Bajelvand at ambassadors@raleigh.org.uk or phoning 020 7183 1270.
