Host country programme

We encourage young people from all our host countries to get involved with our expeditions. In Sabah and Kuala Lumpur we have active Raleigh societies recruiting young Malaysians for our expeditions.

Raleigh International Kuala Lumpur (RIKL)
About 50 people meet every month. They run introduction weekends 2 or 3 times a year for potential volunteers to learn about life on Raleigh, with team building tasks and challenges. RIKL help with ideas and resources for fundraising and preparing for the expedition. The group also runs other projects volunteering their own time to help others.

Sabah
Young people from Sabah interested in joining an expedition can meet with the society or the Host Country Participant Coordinator to find out about life on Raleigh. Help is also given with fundraising and preparing for the expedition. Participants from Sabah also receive support from the Ministry of Youth & Sport to join.

How to apply
If you're aged between 17-25, can swim, speak a little English (or be willing to learn) and can give up 10 weeks of your life we'd love to hear from you.
