How can I apply?
Ready to take on a new role? To apply simply:1. Check out our terms and conditions and read the Raleigh code of conduct
2. Apply online
3. Send your CV and a supporting statement outlining why you wish to become a volunteer manager to volunteermanagers@raleigh.org.uk
Visas
If you choose to join an expedition in India you will need to obtain a tourist visa before you enter the country. Visit the India Visa Application Centre website for more information. If you're a non-UK national please check with the relevant embassy whether you're eligible for a visa.
Apply sooner rather than later
Most volunteer managers sign up between 6 and 12 months before the expedition departs and the earlier you apply the better chance you have of getting your first role and expedition choice. This also gives you more time to raise funds and you'll benefit from our selection and training processes.
Left it to the last minute?
If you want to join an expedition leaving in less than 3 months, please call us on +44 (0)20 7183 1271 to discuss your options.
If you're a non-UK national please check with the relevant embassy whether you're eligible for a visa.
Selection process
Successful applicants are invited to attend an assessment weekend in the UK, which we kindly ask for a £40 contribution to cover costs. This is an intensive 2 day course designed to recreate expedition life and offer a taste of what each role entails. It's a chance to decide if Raleigh's right for you and allows us to assess your suitability. Non-UK participants are welcome to attend the weekend, or telephone interviews can be arranged.
