The New Raleigh Volunteer Manager Award

Raleigh announces the development of a new qualification for volunteer managers in partnership with Birkbeck, University of London.

The Postgraduate Certificate in Raleigh Leadership for professional development* is a newly designed qualification tailored around the unique and challenging work-based learning experience the Raleigh expedition offers to its volunteer managers. The award opportunity highlights the depth of the personal and professional development opportunity the experience offers. It should be of interest to individuals and employers, recruiters and professional bodies who are looking for people with proven leadership ability, experience and knowledge in the relevant fields such as leadership in intercultural context, global citizenship and experiential learning.

This Raleigh and Birkbeck collaboration is a powerful partnership between organisations who are leaders in overseas expedition-based training on the one hand, and a world class research and teaching Higher Education institution on the other.

The award will be piloted in Summer 2010 and be available to Raleigh volunteer managers in early 2011. Please click here to download the FAQ fact sheet.
