Challenge events
In true Raleigh spirit we've a number of challenge events you can get involved with to test yourself, have fun, get fit and raise funds for our work in the process.
Kinabalu Challenge
The next Challenges will take place between 20th - 27th November 2010 and 19th - 16th February 2011
Helicopter into the jungle then hike, bike and raft through spectacular Borneo rainforest before climbing 4100 metres to the top of Mount Kinabalu in the ultimate team adventure race.
The five day Kinabalu Challenge brings together up to 15 teams from around the world to test their individual endurance and team working skills against each other and the elements.
There will be teams in it to win, but also teams who feel that finishing the challenge is a great achievement. You do not have to be superhuman to enjoy the Challenge; a 17 year old and a 54 year old have previously competed in the same Challenge - so it is definitely achievable!
From the time you arrive in Borneo, everything you need to safely complete the challenge from staffing to food and supplies is provided. Participants will need to organise their own flights, kit, vaccinations and any visas.
Entrants are required to raise a minimum of £2,950 of which Raleigh will receive at least £1550. Applications from individuals and teams are welcomed. Previous teams have come from, among others, JWT, Capgemini, Barclays, IBM, Deloitte, Lloyds TSB, Centrica, HSBC, Deutsche Bank and JP Morgan.
Call Debra Hay on 0207 183 1280 or debra.hay@raleigh.org.uk for more information and to sign up.

Parachute jump
Up for a big adrenaline rush? Why not throw yourself out of a perfectly serviceable aeroplane to raise money for your expedition fundraising or to support Raleigh in our 25th anniversary year?
Individual jumps can be done any day of the year at an airfield to suit you. There is a minimum fundraising target of £395 and a £70 deposit is required to secure your place. Contact events@raleigh.org.uk for more information.
The Military Challenge
The Military challenge is held near Redhill in Surrey. The race is an off-road run with water 'hazards', muddy sections, trees, hills and a swimming pool thrown in for good measure (it's empty!). You'll be electronically timed, so whether you're looking to beat the person in front of you, gain a personal best or just finish the race, it will definitely be worth the challenge. You can choose to participate in either the 5 kilometre or 10 kilometre distance.
This is only a taster of the challenges on offer, please keep checking back for details of more exciting events happening soon. We can also help organise events to suit your needs.
If you are interested in any of the above events or your own bespoke event, please contact the team on +44 (0)207 183 1270 or events@raleigh.org.uk
