Individual giving
There are many ways individuals can support us:
Make a donation
Making an individual donation is easy. You can either use Justgiving to make a secure online donation or complete a donation form. If you're a UK income tax payer, why not take advantage of Gift Aid to make the most of your donation, allowing us to claim extra money from the taxman and it doesn't cost you a penny. We are always grateful to receive on-going support in the form of a regular monthly donation - this helps us to plan ahead with confidence.
Payroll donation
Some employers may have a give-as-you-earn scheme allowing you to make a regular payroll donation, or you may wish to suggest this to your employer. These are becoming increasingly popular with businesses and we can send you or your employer an information pack. Many employers operate a match giving scheme which could double your donation making it an extremely effective way for you to donate money to Raleigh.
Leaving a legacy
Remembering Raleigh in your will can make a real difference to the life of a young person and can benefit your family and friends. Leaving such a legacy would not be subject to inheritance tax and would reduce the amount of your will that is taxable. We are able to help and provide all relevant documents. We are able to help, please give us a call or see our legacy pack.
Shares giving
Tax incentives makes shares giving one of the best ways to support a charitable organisation. For example if you give shares worth £1,000, Raleigh would benefit and you would pay £400 or £220 less in income tax that year, depending on whether you're a higher rate or basic rate tax payer. Plus capital gains tax on any increase in the value of shares will not apply. You can donate shares through Share Gift or you can obtain a stock transfer form from the registrar who acts for the company in which you have shares. You should send the completed form with your share certificate to the Fundraising team at Raleigh. Remember to keep a copy of the transfer and receipt of the gift from Raleigh to claim the tax relief. Contact your tax adviser or HM Revenue & Customs for further information.
