All together now!
26th September 2013

Mambo! Yesterday marked the first official full day of Expedition 13J as the remaining team members all arrived at Fieldbase.
After a long, hot, dusty but very festive (Christmas tunes on the radio in September?! Again) journey from Dar –es – Salaam a Coaster (minibus) full of Project Managers , Adventure Project Managers, Medics, Logistics and Comms all pulled up to a very warm Fieldbase welcome!
So, to complete our line up we now have…
- seven project managers (PMs) – Rose, Chris, Louisa, Emma, Mary, Janel and Calum
- two Medics – Justin and Stuart
- two adventure PMs – Melissa and Anton
- two Fieldbase members – Alice to join the Logs team and Hannah (me!). I’m Comms and will be updating this blog with all tales from 13J!

Everyone is enjoying their time exploring the area around Fieldbase, getting to know each other (a rather epically large ‘name game’ to test our memory skills) and learning lots about the upcoming projects, which I’ll be telling you about a future blog. Today was the start of two weeks of rather intense learning – everything from camp skills to leadership to Millenium Development Goals – before the Venturers arrive.

Tomorrow the entire team is heading off to WAMO, our training camp, for medical training and all sorts of hands on learning…as well as a trek up into the mountains behind Morogoro on Saturday and an overnight camp.
As soon as we return I’ll be back on the blog with more of an introduction to all our Project Managers (PMs) and the tales of training trek!
