Celebrating Raleigh Kuala Lumpur society winning in NGO Leadership

6th May 2016

President of Raleigh society in Kuala Lumpur , Chin Liang Keat, is celebrating winning an NGO Leadership Award at the recent Golden Globe Tigers Award 2016.

The awards are held annually in recognition of individuals and organisations who have achieved the highest levels of standards and benchmark in areas such as corporate social responsibility, social innovation, and education leadership across multifunctional industries.

Raleigh is proud of its global network of alumni, with active and independent alumni societies such as Kuala Lumpur, Bermuda, China, Costa Rica, Hong Kong, India, Jersey, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Singapore, Tanzania and Uganda. Our alumni societies achieve incredible things, including organising mini-expeditions, supporting local community initiatives, and raising funds for our work. They play a vital role in continuing the Raleigh values of active citizenship post-expedition.

The award ceremony took place in Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre Hotel & Residences on the 11th of April 2016, where a number of respectable attendees were present not only from Malaysia but from many different parts of the world.

“We would not be who and where we are now if it wasn’t with the continuous support and guidance from our alumni and our volunteers. Our volunteers are the driving force that keeps us moving forward. A massive thank you to everyone! We hope that this is just the beginning to our journey!”
