Five week Volunteer Managers prepare to visit their project sites for the first time

13th July 2016

It’s been a busy seven days for the five week Volunteer Managers – who have spent the past week attending training sessions at Fieldbase, Morogoro.

From health & safety, to codes of conduct, to cultural differences, plus a one night ‘mini-trek’ in the Uluguru mountain range – the Volunteer Managers have been fully briefed on what is expected of them on expedition, and are all set to depart for their Project Planning Visits tomorrow.

Project Planning Visits (PPVs) give Volunteer Managers an opportunity to scope out their project sites in advance of the Venturers arriving, visit home stays, assess the project’s proximity to health services and discuss the group’s timetable with their project partner.

We look forward to updating you as to how the five week Volunteer Manager’s PPVs went when they return to Morogoro on Tuesday.

Phone signal and wifi can be limited in Tanzania. If you’d like to get in touch with a Volunteer Manager while they’re on expedition, please use the contact form here.
