We wanted to say a massive thank you to all our volunteers this International Volunteer Day – especially those who don’t get enough credit!

Our work wouldn’t be possible without a cohort of behind the scenes volunteers, from cooks to medics to logistics coordinators! THANK YOU!

Christine, volunteer cook in the UK

Christine volunteers as a cook on our training events for volunteer managers. As a former Project Manager in Costa Rica & Nicaragua, we thank you Christine for continuing to support us – and especially for all those delicious jacket potatoes!

Lazaro, logistics co-ordinator in Tanzania

Lazaro, wins the award for being the most ‘swags’ logistics volunteer in Tanzania, thank you for packing porridge with effortless coolness.

Jo, Duty Operations Manager in Costa Rica

Jo is our Duty Operations Manager in Costa Rica, a role which requires an incredible amount of resilience and organisation. Jo has created 28 different timetables to document and organise our volunteer movements across Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Thank you!

Nicki, medic in Costa Rica

Without our medics like Nicki, we simply wouldn’t be able to operate. Thank you for the 42 blisters you have treated on Raleigh! (and sorry about the 66 portions of porridge you have eaten so far!)

Juanee, videographer in Tanzania

Juanee is our volunteer videographer in Tanznaia, thank you for taking over 200 hours of volunteer outtakes collected since being with Raleigh.

Jon and Anne, Medic and Logisitics Co-ordinator in Tanzania

Thank you to Anne for packing over 1000 tins of beans for the volunteers and Jon for donating over 700 hours to keeping Raleigh ICS volunteers safe in their villages.

Heleena and Humphrey, Duty Operations Managers in Tanzania

Thank you to Heleena and Humphrey for managing our water, sanitation and hygiene programmes! Links with over 30 rural villages in Tanzania have been set up and 250 people are Active Global Citizens thanks to your hard work!

Team of volunteers in the UK

A HUGE thank you to our volunteer facilitators at our 9 Volunteer Manager Assessment Weekends this year! Thanks to the help of 5 cooks, 52 volunteer facilitators, through 1, 664 volunteer hours, 216 Volunteer Managers were assessed and 203 new Raleigh Journeys were started! The weekends were fuelled by 270 eggs and 3,200 tea bags!
