Raleigh International and Stadia Solutions partner to spread volunteering message to young football fans around the country

Sustainable development charity Raleigh International and leading international sports and entertainment marketing agency Stadia Solutions have partnered to run a national marketing campaign – which is now live at 35 football stadiums around the UK – for the charity’s international volunteering programmes.

Raleigh International exists to create lasting change through youth in disadvantaged communities around the world. Their volunteering programmes, such as Raleigh Expedition, focus on working with and through young people, equipping them with the skills, confidence and experiences they need to be empowered, effective and energetic partners and leaders in development. Raleigh programmes run in Costa Rica and Nicaragua, Nepal, Malaysian Borneo and Tanzania, combining development projects with a challenging adventure trek in some of the world’s most remote areas.

For Raleigh, this campaign represents a real diversification in their traditional marketing and recruitment approach. Following a recent matchday visit to Watford Football Club’s Vicarage Road stadium, Nick Parker, Director of Business Development at Raleigh International, said: “At Raleigh we inspire communities and young people around the world to create lasting change. It was great to see young and older fans alike engaging with our posters and taking the time to read about our international volunteering opportunities and the importance of development.

“Having our posters at football grounds around the country enables us to reach out to our key audiences and engage them in a new way, spreading the message about the opportunities that international volunteering provides in a new environment. I think a lot of people will be pleasantly surprised to see posters like ours on a matchday.

Running the campaign at such influential clubs as Watford is vital to getting fans engaged with worthwhile causes. An increasingly important aspect of football is around giving back – whether that be to your fans, to your community, or to the wider world – and we’re delighted to be a part of that.”
