Working with youth organisations
Raleigh International ensures that young people from all walks of life can access the opportunity to volunteer overseas, particularly those from low income households and disadvantaged young people.
We work closely in partnership with youth focused organisations to ensure that all young people can apply for a Raleigh Expedition or ICS placement.
We do this by working in partnership to:
Understand the needs of the young people you work with
Inform you about the volunteering programmes we offer
Identify which programme is the best fit for your young people
Provide extra pastoral support
Provide funding to individuals from low income households (limited places dependant on funding)
Please note that the application process and participation will be catered to your young people to allow us to provide the best possible experience ensuring we meet their support needs, enable them to participate and empower them to achieve.
“The Raleigh ICS Entrepreneur Programme was an invaluable experience that has given me a new perspective on life. I think this experience has had great impact on me, a person who would be classed as ‘disadvantaged’ by UK standards. I realised that it’s all relative, I appreciate more and I can see just how privileged I am.”
Shahnaz Biggs – young person
“The Vocational College has worked in partnership with Raleigh International since 2008. During this time we have seen 11 young people go on expedition. Raleigh has helped change the lives of the young people that have had the opportunity to experience the expeditions. It has helped the young people gain employment or to go onto further education. Working in partnership with Raleigh International has helped the young people that attend our college have access to this great opportunity.”
