Sister construction firms Buildbase and Hirebase wanted a worthwhile CSR initiative to support whilst also offering younger employees a personal development opportunity. Financial support for a school sanitation project in Tanzania was generously provided by Buildbase – the construction theme related to their core business and offered a logical strategic message.
Seven Buildbase employees (17-24 yrs. old) then participated in a Raleigh Expedition programme for seven weeks as Volunteers, which included them volunteering on the same project that Buildbase were funding.
