The SES Raleigh Explorer Award Jersey is open to Jersey residents. The grant is £2,000 towards a 7 or 10 week Expedition with Raleigh International*.
The Award is being funded by the Jersey Scientific Exploration Society (JSES).

Details of the award
- Applications are open
- We will aim to announce the winners at the beginning of April
- The cycles available are Cycle 2 (June – August) or Cycle 3 (October – December) 2025
- We are looking for a young person who can clearly show that they would benefit from experiencing a life-enhancing and transformational volunteering experience with Raleigh International
- Venturers will be encouraged to raise funds for their flights, kit and insurance
Entry requirements
To be eligible you need to be:
- A Jersey resident (Jersey passport)
- 17-24 (must be 24 or less when on Expedition)
- Able to commit to a 7 or 10-week Expedition
- Able to raise funds for travel, kit and insurance
- Reasonably fit and able to cope with a hike
- Willing to deliver a 15-minute presentation to the Jersey Scientific Exploration Society (JSES) upon your return
- Willing to be a JSES and Raleigh Alumni Ambassador in Jersey
- Willing to encourage more people to go on Expedition and apply for the grant in years to come
- Willing to take part in PR for the JSES
