Venturer Manager prices and fundraising

We’ve changed the way we price Expeditions for our Venturer Managers. You now only have to pay a £200 plus a suggested fundraising contribution of £400-£600. Find out more about why we made this change and how to fundraise for your role.

Why we no longer charge Venturer Manager fees

For over 40 years, Raleigh has been fuelled by the unwavering support of incredible Venturer Managers. Recognising that these roles demand not only a significant financial investment but also a considerable amount of time out of full-time employment, we initiated a campaign to offer roles with only a £200 deposit. We saw a surge in applications from passionate individuals eager to contribute to our mission.

Considering the evolving landscape of our organisation and our commitment to inclusivity, we have decided to make this a permanent shift. We want to express our deepest gratitude to all our Venturer Managers for their dedication and commitment.

*VMs can secure a space on Expedition with a £200 deposit only. You’ll still need to pay for your flights, kit and vaccinations.

Why fundraise as a Venturer Manager?

Raising funds for a Raleigh Expedition is essential to support the life-changing experiences it offers. Contributions will help cover the costs of National Venturers and Bursary participants joining Expedition, ensuring they create impact and are accessible to young people from diverse backgrounds. It will also go towards  your food and accommodation costs.

How much should I be fundraising?

We recommend setting a fundraising goal of between £400 and £600.

This amount is ideal for making a meaningful contribution towards the essential costs of a National Venturer’s Raleigh Expedition. Hitting this target will not only help ensure a successful Expedition but also allow you to make a tangible difference in the lives of those involved.

How can I fundraise?

Asking people to donate money can be tricky, so we’ve partnered with easyfundraising.

How to apply

We advise Venturer Managers to apply well in advance of Expedition to give you the best chance of getting your first choice of role and country.

Complete the online form and upload a copy of your CV / résumé. Please tell us as much as you can about yourself, including relevant skills and experience. Don’t worry if you don’t know which role is right for you – just put ‘undecided’.

Assessment Event

If your application form is approved, you will be invited to attend an assessment event. This also gives you the opportunity to hear more about Raleigh Expedition. If successful, you will then be offered a place on one of our Expeditions.

Confirmation

To confirm your place on Expedition, we will ask you for a deposit of £200$200$$ZAR when you receive our offer letter. This will be deducted from your total.

Pre-departure

Prepare for your expedition! Our team will support you and send you everything you need for your Expedition. You will then be invited to your Venturer Manager Training event.
