Sales Specialist

Role: Sales Specialist
Location: Costa Rica based, remote (training to be delivered at Costa Rica Field base in Turrialba)
Salary: $1,200 (USD) per month + commission
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 6 month contract
Reports to: Recruitment Manager

About the role

As a pivotal member of our Expedition Recruitment Team, the Raleigh International Sales Specialist plays a crucial role in guiding prospective participants towards their ideal Expedition experience while effectively communicating the many benefits of joining a Raleigh Expedition. This dynamic role involves conducting phone consultations, call campaigns, responding to email inquiries, meticulously screening venturer applications and converting potential leads into customers.

You will be creative, show initiative, and are able to test and learn, with the ability to engage and understand a younger audience (17-24).

Responsibilities

Sales and recruitment

  • Promptly and efficiently follow up with leads acquired by the Marketing team.
  • Work along the team to meet sales targets.
  • Manage the sales pipeline meticulously, meeting lead conversion targets and providing timely updates to management as necessary.
  • Handle inbound inquiries from potential participants via email, phone, and our website, including managing online chat platforms such as WhatsApp.
  • Conduct thorough screening of volunteer application forms and facilitate interviews when required.
  • Commit to continuous improvement through actively seeking and implementing feedback.
  • Become an expert in our Expedition program, projects, and impact, effectively articulating these to potential applicants, while also developing an in-depth understanding of Raleigh Expedition offerings, including unique selling points, daily activities, and logistical details. Additionally, recognize various motivations and address common objections related to volunteering abroad.
  • Familiarize oneself with the roles and responsibilities of each Raleigh Volunteer Manager position.
  • Ensure a seamless and positive customer experience by setting accurate expectations.
  • Participate in virtual information events to promote Raleigh Expeditions.
  • Maintain effective communication with the Volunteer Journey team to optimize candidate screening processes.
  • Manage all American leads due to time zone coverage.

Reporting and administrative tasks: 

  • Utilize our CRM tool (HubSpot) to efficiently manage inquiries and customer records. 
  • Proactively identify opportunities for customer service enhancement. 
  • Keep CRM tool updated with assigned tasks and relevant notes. 
  • Maintain availability on our collaboration platform (Slack) to support team members and address inquiries. 

Given the evolving landscape of the travel industry post-COVID and Raleigh International’s relaunch mission, there may be adjustments or additional responsibilities in the role. Person Specification

Essential Skills

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with a proficiency level of C2 in English. 

  • Accomplished sales and customer service orientation. 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. 
  • Empathy and ability to understand the needs and motivations of potential participants and their parent or guardian. -Proactive and self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and grow. 
  • Familiarity with CRM software, preferably HubSpot. 

Desired 

  • Previous experience in sales, customer service, or a related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of international volunteering or travel industry is a plus.
