Here’s how Venturer Managers can help more Venturers experience a Raleigh Expedition
At Raleigh International, we believe that every young person, regardless of background, should have the opportunity to participate in life-changing experiences, and we know that our Venturer Managers play a vital role in making these experiences meaningful.
As a Venturer Manager, you’re not just a leader, you also play a critical role in ensuring all participants, including National Venturers and those supported by bursaries, can join an Expedition and make a lasting impact.
Why Fundraise?
Fundraising is a fundamental aspect of Raleigh Expeditions. As a Venturer Manager, your fundraising helps cover your own food and travel expenses and can also allow us to bring young people from diverse backgrounds into our programs.
Many participants come from countries where the cost of joining an Expedition would otherwise be prohibitive. Your fundraising efforts can directly support National Venturers and Bursary participants, ensuring that they can experience the transformative power of a Raleigh Expedition.
By raising funds, you’re helping to support a diverse, dynamic, and inclusive environment on Expedition that is vital for creating a meaningful impact on both the individuals involved and the communities we work with.
How Much Should You Fundraise?
We recommend aiming for a fundraising goal between £400 and £600.
This amount is not only achievable but also makes a significant contribution toward the essential costs for a National Venturer’s Raleigh Expedition. By reaching this target, you ensure that young people who may not have had the chance otherwise can take part and thrive in an inclusive Expedition experience.

Asking for donations can feel challenging, but Raleigh offers several ways to make it easier. One great option is through easyfundraising, a website and app that allows your family and friends to support your cause in an easy and accessible way.

Why we no longer charge Venturer Manager fees
For over 40 years, Raleigh International has relied on the passion and dedication of Venturer Managers. We know that taking time off work and paying for an Expedition can be a considerable commitment. That’s why we launched a campaign to remove the financial fees associated with being a VM, leaving only a £200 deposit to secure your spot.
