Raleigh International are not currently recruiting for Venturer Managers.  For Expeditions taking place from October 2026 and in 2027, a team of National Project Coordinators will support Raleigh Venturers during their Expeditions.
At Raleigh International, we are proud of the role Venturer Managers have played in supporting thousands of young people on Expedition over the years.
Venturer Managers (aged 25+) have been central to the success of our programmes, playing a key role in providing guidance, leadership, and pastoral support to Raleigh Venturers as they take on life-changing and challenging Expeditions.
ABOUT THIS CHANGE

A CONSIDERED CHANGE

We recognise that Raleigh Venturer Managers have made a big impact on Raleigh Expeditions throughout the years. We are grateful to the commitment, energy and dedication shown by all Venturer Managers on Expeditions.
We are confident it is the right step forward. One that will allow us to deliver a higher quality Expedition experience, deepen our impact in the communities we serve, and continue to hold safety as our highest priority.

Will Venturers on Expedition still receive the same amount of support on their programmes as before?

By removing Venturer Managers in favour of local support staff, we categorically are not reducing the support that our Venturers will receive on Expedition. In fact, we believe this change will improve the support that they receive on their programme.

National Project Coordinators bring deep, first-hand knowledge of the environments, communities, and cultures in which our Expeditions take place. We believe they are best placed to create the kind of meaningful, high-impact experiences that sit at the heart of the Raleigh Expedition.

Specifically, we expect this change to result in:

  • Clearer communication with local project partners, enabling stronger working relationships and more effective delivery on the ground.
  • Richer Expedition experiences for Venturers, shaped by PCs with genuine knowledge of the areas, communities and ecosystems they are working in.
  • Improved safety, particularly in the event of an emergency, where local lived experience and established community networks are invaluable.
