Why we no longer charge Venturer Manager fees
For over 40 years, Raleigh has been fuelled by the unwavering support of incredible Venturer Managers. Recognising that these roles demand not only a significant financial investment but also a considerable amount of time out of full-time employment, we initiated a campaign to offer roles with only a £400 deposit. We saw a surge in applications from passionate individuals eager to contribute to our mission.
Considering the evolving landscape of our organisation and our commitment to inclusivity, we have decided to make this a permanent shift. We want to express our deepest gratitude to all our Venturer Managers for their dedication and commitment.
*VMs can secure a space on Expedition with a £400 deposit only. You’ll still need to pay for your flights, kit and vaccinations.
Why fundraise as a Venturer Manager?
Raising funds for a Raleigh Expedition is essential to support the life-changing experiences it offers. Contributions will help cover the costs of National Venturers and Bursary participants joining Expedition, ensuring they create impact and are accessible to young people from diverse backgrounds. It will also go towards your food and accommodation costs.
How much should I be fundraising?
We recommend setting a fundraising goal of between £400 and £600.
This amount is ideal for making a meaningful contribution towards the essential costs of your Expedition, including travel, accommodation and food. It will also support the places of our fully funded participants and National Venturers Raleigh Expedition.

How to apply
We advise Venturer Managers to apply well in advance of Expedition to give you the best chance of getting your first choice of role and country.
Apply online
Complete the application form (have your CV / résumé ready). Tell us about yourself, any relevant skills and experience. Unsure on the role? Select ‘undecided’.
Assessment
If your application is approved, you’ll be invited to an assessment event. This also gives you the opportunity to hear more about Raleigh Expeditions.
Confirmation
If successful, you’ll then be offered a place. To confirm your place on Expedition, we’ll ask you for a deposit of £400$400$400$.
Pre-departure
Our team will support you preparing and send you everything you need for your Expedition. This includes an in-depth Venturer Manager Training event.
