Elizabeth Wanjiru Wathuti is a 24 year old activist from Kenya. At just 21, she founded the Green Generation Initiative. Her organisation nurtures young environmental enthusiasts by greening schools, delivering environmental education and running an “adopt a tree” campaign. Elizabeth, along with 40 passionate volunteers, has worked with 20,000 school children all over Kenya to plant 30,000 trees. Elizabeth has since received the Diana Award.

Vanessa Nakate is a 22 year old climate activist from Uganda who has been on strike every Friday since February 2019 to bring attention to the unusually high temperatures in Uganda and to advocate for renewable energy. Vanessa has organised and led three national climate strikes in Uganda and his since then been elected as the team leader for the Fridays for Future campaign.

Dominique Palmer is a climate justice activist from England. She campaigns for intersectional climate justice. She believes climate change is intersectional with social issues. She is part of the UK Student Climate Network, Fridays for Future International and Extinction Rebellion (XR) Youth. She has also spoken at events such as COP25 on environmental justice.

Isra Hirsi is a 17 year old social justice and climate activist from Minnesota, USA. She is the co-organiser of the US Youth Climate Strike. Isra received a Brower Youth Award for her climate activism.

Fatima Ibrahim

 

Fatima Ibrahim is a 27 year old from London who is a codirector of the Green New Deal UK, which lobbies for the British government to put the climate crisis at the heart of the economic system.
